Gitanjali Srivastava, Valerie O'Hara and Nancy Browne
Article Type: Review Article | First Published: July 16, 2018
Obesity causes more than 200 medical disorders including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea. In particular, the prevalence and rate of obesity in children and adolescents have increased with over 1/3 of the US pediatric population afflicted with overweight and obesity. Though there is a multifactorial etiology including complex biological and physiological mechanisms involved in energy regulation that may predispose toward an obesity phenotype, we highlight an often missed and overlooked etiology of obesity in clinical assessment in children- sleep disturbance and its causation to weight gain.

A Prospective Study of Trans-Septal Suture Technique in Stabalising the Middle Turbinate and Preventing Adhesions after Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Salil Sood and Deepak Gupta
Article Type: Research Article | First Published: July 13, 2018
Over the years the importance of middle turbinate has increased with the wider use of nasal endoscopes in the management of the sino nasal diseases. Lateralization of the middle turbinate may cause scarring & adhesions which may affect the results of the surgery. We have been using a simple technique of placing a transeptal suture to stabilise the middle turbinate and prevent adhesions between middle turbinate and the lateral wall of the nose. We have used this technique in prospective study, which is described here.

Lenalidomide Plus Dexamethasone is an Active Rescue Treatment for Myeloma with Severe Renal Impairment Failing to Bortezomib-Based Induction Therapy
Giuseppe Mele and Domenico Pastore
Article Type: Case Reports & Case Series | First Published: July 12, 2018
Patients with relapsed/refractory Multiple Myeloma (rrMM) and End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) requiring hemodialysis must receive lenalidomide at a dosage of 5 mg daily on days 1-21 of repeated 28-day cycles, due to substantial elimination via the kidneys. Unfortunately, despite dose reduction, severe adverse events occur with a high frequency. Therefore, lenalidomide is recommended mainly in patients with mild-to-moderate renal impairment.

Positive Effects of Acupuncture on Atopic Dermatitis
Rezan Akpinar and Saliha Karatay
Article Type: Literature Review | First Published: July 06, 2018
Atopic dermatitis, or allergic eczema, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition which is noncontagious and leads to itchy, dry skin lesions that can damage the intact skin barrier. Although the etiology is not known, it is widely believed that family history and allergies play a role. The incidence of atopic dermatitis is usually higher in early childhood, while other allergic conditions can develop later in life, such as allergic rhinitis and asthma. Atopic dermatitis is typically treated through topical ointments and the systematic use of pharmaceuticals to control symptoms.
