He was the orthopaedic consultant of ACF Fiorentina Football Club and the Medicei Rugby Club in Florence. Between 2000 and 2004 he directed the research program of ACL reconstruction and made his career in the 1st orthopedic Clinic up to this year by publishing several papers on sports traumatology and adult

Dr. Giron selected as Italian representative at the European Arthroscopy fellowship in 2007 and he is the International member in American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) since 2002. Dr. Giron main fields of research are knee diseases and he is currently investigating on the long term results of ACL reconstruction using different graft, the outcome result of reconstructive surgery in case of complex knee ligament injuries.

Dr. Hong research interests mainly focused to develop the therapeutic compounds from medicinal nature herbs which have ability to inhibit inflammation to control either osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Her first research direction is to study the structure and function of Smc5/6 complex, a group of proteins responsible for maintaining genome stability
