The high predisposition to pulmonary embolism (PE) in CoViD-19-patients increases with its seriousness, even under anticoagulation. Because neither clinical nor laboratory parameters seem to be specific in this case, the CTPA stays the gold standard for further diagnostic, with the risk however of overuse. Our study investigates the incidence of PE in CoViD-19-patients, who underwent aCTPA, and to assess the link of several clinical and laboratory parameters with its occurrence....

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the acute and sub-acute toxicity of the trunk bark hydro- ethanolic extract of Stereospermum Kunthianum Cham: in Wistar rats. For acute toxicity assessment, three 12-week-old female rats were administered by gavage a single oral dose of 2000 mg/kg of the trunk bark hydro-ethanolic extract of Stereospermum kunthianum. LD50 was estimated after 14 days of observation. Subacute toxicity was assessed at three dose levels: 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg....

SARS-CoV-2, the infectious agent causing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, often has long-term impacts on the health of those who survive initial infection and can lead to premature death. An understudied outcome of COVID-19 is its effect on the audiovestibular system. Impacts of the virus on this system create a pattern of disability similar to that of Ménière’s Disease (MD), a progressively degenerative condition that can cause severe falls and deafness. COVID-induced MD (CMD) impacts physica...

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a rare autoimmune subepithelial blistering disease affecting mostly older adults . Studies have calculated an annual incidence ranging from 2.4% to 21.7% per million population. While triggers are found in less than 15% of cases, drugs are well-known trigger factors. Recently, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP4i) have been associated to this condition. Our study presents four cases of older adults with BP associated to the use of DPP4i. The relevance of this study...
